Web Design
Here are a couple of the sites I have been
responsible for developing. The Vikings site was developed for a
university project. The Genetics Society site was developed as part of
a part-time post while studying for my PhD in Information
Visualisation.
Both the Genetics Society site
and this site were developed so that the administrator can edit the
content of the site quickly and effectively online. If you
want to get an idea of how this is done click open the sample
documentation. Other features of the Genetics Society website include a
members’ area, online meeting registration, abstract submission etc.

If you would like a similar site developed for your own organisation, please give me a call or send me an e-mail so we can discuss your requirements.

The Genetics Society

The development of this site was the main duty of my
part-time post as Webmaster for the Genetics Society at the Rosline Institute.
I not only implemented the design of the site (which was adapted from the
design of the society newsletter) but also developed a custom content
management system. This allows a site administrator to edit the content of the
site quickly and effectively online. The basic goal of the design was
for quite sophisticated site maintenance tasks to be realistically achievable
for anyone with a very basic level of training. This goes for everything from
updating a page to adding a meeting with a registration form.

the Vikings

The Viking website was created for a university project. The site is to be targeted toward early secondary school age children. I did quite a lot of in-depth research on the Vikings and am quite pleased with the results.

The Flaming Truth

Website of the excellent book "The Flaming Truth: a History of the Belfast Fire Brigade" by Bill Broadhurst and Harry Welsh.
